Is Hispanic Heritage Over or Just Beginning: The Uphill Battle, Soldadera Style

As we wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15), all of us at Soldadera Coffee Company want to take a moment to reflect—not just on the history, but on the heart of what this month truly represents.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the vibrant cultures, rich traditions, and deep-rooted values of Hispanic and Latino communities. It’s a time to connect with others, celebrate our roots, and come closer as a community. But here at Soldadera, we believe this celebration goes far beyond 30 days. It’s a reminder of the everyday strength, resilience, and beauty that the Hispanic community brings to our neighborhoods, our cities, and yes—our coffee.

A Culture that Inspires Us

At Soldadera, we draw so much inspiration from the Hispanic community. The values of familia, hard work, and pride in heritage resonate deeply with our mission. Whether it’s the farmers who grow the coffee beans with care and craftsmanship, the small business owners who carry on family legacies, or the artists and activists who speak truth through culture- this community embodies strength and soul.

These values are infused in every bag of coffee we roast, every cup we pour, and every connection we make with our customers.

Lessons That Build a Better Brew—and a Better World

We’ve learned a lot this past month—not just about history, but about humanity.

We’ve learned that culture is a story best told through generations, that hard work often goes unseen but never unappreciated, and that community means showing up for each other in real ways.

As we continue to grow as a company, these are the lessons we hold close. They remind us that our business isn’t just about coffee—it’s about people.

Standing with the Hispanic Community

Right now, members of the Hispanic community across the United States are facing increased challenges—discrimination, harmful rhetoric, and policies that threaten families and futures. We cannot stay silent about that.

At Soldadera, we believe in standing with our community. That means:

  • Supporting Hispanic-owned businesses and creators.

  • Collaborating with Hispanic-led organizations that empower change.

  • Using our platform to elevate voices that need to be heard.

  • Calling out injustice—and choosing compassion over complacency.

Keep the Celebration Going

Hispanic Heritage Month may be over, but our support isn’t. Here are a few ways you can keep honoring and uplifting the Hispanic community:

  • Buy from Hispanic-owned brands and shops

  • Learn about the origins of your coffee and the people behind it

  • Support local advocacy groups working for immigrant rights and equity

  • Read, watch, and listen to Hispanic creators and storytellers

  • Be intentional in your allyship—every day, not just in heritage months

To our Hispanic customers, friends, and partners: thank you for your culture, your strength, your warmth, and your resilience. You are not just part of our story—you are the soul of it.

From all of us at Soldadera Coffee Company, gracias for allowing us to serve and celebrate with you. We see you. We stand with you. And we’re proud to brew in your honor.
