Celebrating Valentine's Day in Mexico isn't all that different from in the U.S., but single people don't have to be left out.
El Día del Amor y la Amistad in Mexico, just like Valentine's day in the U.S., is celebrated on Feb. 14. Unlike in the U.S., however, it's not just a day for romantic love.
Translating in English, to "Day of Love and Friendship," the day is marked by people showering both friends and lovers with gifts such as flowers, balloons and chocolates or taking them out to dinner.
In Mexico, men usually will serenade their lovers from outside of their home, sometimes accompanied by a mariachi band. For guys looking to go the extra mile this V Day, serenading gets the Soldadera Seal of Approval.
